Why We Built Blue Truss

The standard wasn’t high enough.

In 2018, we looked at the residential roofing industry in Montgomery County and saw a gap that bothered us. Homeowners were investing tens of thousands of dollars into one of the most important systems on their home — and getting a transactional experience in return. Crews disappearing mid-job. Photo documentation that didn’t exist. Salespeople who’d hand off the relationship the moment a contract was signed. Promises that quietly evaporated when the warranty was tested.

We didn’t think that was good enough — not for premium homes, not for the families inside them, and not for an industry that’s supposed to protect the most expensive purchase most people ever make.

So we built Blue Truss around a simple idea: deliver the level of craftsmanship, communication, and care that premium homeowners already expect from their interior designer, their landscape architect, their financial advisor — and demand the same of the company that puts on their roof. When I started Blue Truss, I made one promise to myself: every roof we put on a home would be one I’d be proud to have on my own. Every crew on a jobsite would be one I’d be comfortable having at my own house. Every interaction with a homeowner would be one I’d want my own family to experience.

That’s not a marketing line. It’s the filter we run every decision through. Most contractors pick one. We earned both because we wanted homeowners to have the choice without compromise.
